US chip fabrication equipment sales rise in May

Semiconductor equipment and materials supplier organisation, SEMI, announced yesterday that orders for semiconductor equipment rose in May --about six percent greater than April and three percent better than May of last year.
With orders towering at $1.67 billion, and billings averaging at the exact same amount for a 1.00 Book-to-Bill ratio, the month of May was the best month for this industry in 2007.
