- With more than 200 video game titles already powered by Gamebryo , Emergent Game Technologies today unveiled a stunning upgrade to its leading game engine focused on performance and feature enhancements for next-generation platforms. With the release of Gamebryo 2.3, dramatic cinematic action and rendering results are now possible with significantly fewer development resources required for production.

According to Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent, Gamebryo 2.3 will dramatically decrease the time and cost required to build stellar cross-platform games.

Gamebryo 2.3's powerful new features and capabilities include:
- Rendering Framework. An object-based rendering framework that allows for easy programmatic construction of complex rendering effects.
- Multi-Core Processing. Floodgateâ„¢ optimized task scheduling and execution, enabling a richer experience on today's next generation multi-core processor game platforms.
- DX10 Support. Pre-release of the new DX10 renderer. Supports most DX9 features, but includes a significantly re-architected and improved API.
- Shadow System. A system which includes automatic tool chain support for variance shadow mapping, edge tap smoothed PCF shadow mapping, and general shadow mapping.
- PhysX Integration. Integration of AGEIA PhysXâ„¢ with Animation Tool to support setting up blending for advanced ragdoll and keyframe animations.
