If you think he was being serious then you're unaware of what's going on.
It's a satire on the K-pop culture where they "manufacture" artist, he wasn't good looking enough to fit into the K-pop mold and his style was very unconventional, as for the dance he himself said once that it's about dressing flashy and dancing as cheesy as possible.

I did not think he was being serious but I dont think a parody of manufactured pop is "simply amazing"
unless the lyrics are incredibly well written and cutting.

Honestly, I do not understand what is so special about this song. The first time I read (see- read, not heard ) about this song was in one news site article about how many millions views it had.

And I don't like it, it is suppoesed to be music not some funny (or not so much) theater. People wonder what exactly to find so it impresses them... and boom... this shit happens and they gooo wow.
